ग़ज़ल् ३४ (नज़्र्-ए जस्मा)

आह् ! ख़ुमार्-ए नाज़् है तुझ्‌को न तो ग़ुरूर् है
गर्चॆः जहान्-ए हुस्न् भी तुझ् ही से नूर् नूर् है

ग़म्ज़्-ए मस्त् मस्त् का यॆः भी ऽअजब् सुरूर् है
तुझ्‌से मैँ होश्यार् हूँ , होश् पॆः मुझ्‌से दूर् है

हुस्न् की इक् झलक् दिखे , आस् मैँ लेके हूँ खड़ा
ले , तेरा संग्-ए आस्ताँ अब् मेरा कोह्-ए तूर् है

रोज़् नहीँ मिलेँगे "रौशन्" वॊः जो तुझ्‌से ग़म् न कर्
बज़्म्-ए ख़याल् मेँ तो "जस्मा" का सदा हुज़ूर् है

चॆह्रे का रंग् उड़् गया मह्फ़िल्-ए आर्ज़ू मेँ जो
किस् दिल्-ए बे-क़रार् का हाल तेरे हुज़ूर् है

ख़ुमार् = intoxication; hangover.
नाज़् = coqeutry; pride, conceit, whims.
ग़ुरूर् = pride, vanity, vainglory.
गर्चॆः (contr. of अगर्चॆः) = although, even if.
नूर् = light; brilliance; illumination.
ग़म्ज़् = amorous glance; coquetry.
मस्त् = intoxicated; amorous, wanton.
सुरूर् = pleasure; exhilaration (caused by wine).
संग्-ए आस्ताँ =stone at the threshold/doorstep.
कोह्-ए तूर् = Mt. Sinai, where Musa/Moses had his revelation.
बज़्म् = assembly, banquet.
हुज़ूर् = presence, attendance.
-के हुज़ूर् = in the presence of.
मह्फ़िल् = place of congregation; assembly; dancing party.
आर्ज़ू = wish, desire; expectation; intention.
बे-क़रार् = restless, uneasy; unsettled, vacillating.

ग़ज़ल् ३२ (ऎऽतिज़ार् नामः)

ग़लत् था मेरा कहा , सो मुझे मॊऽआफ़् करो
नहीँ तो शौक़् से तुम् मुझ्‌से इन्हिराफ़् करो

तुम्हारा दिल् न दुखे , इक् इसी का क़स्द् किया
ख़ुलूस्-ए दिल् का मेरे कुछ् तो इत्तिसाफ़् करो

सुनो ! मुझे नहीँ मऽलूम् मेरे दिल् का हाल्
तुम्हेँ जो मुझ्‌से लगी है , तो ऎऽतिराफ़् करो

मदार् क्योँ न तुझी को करूँ , बुत्-ए ख़्व़ुद्‌बीन् !
कहा तो तूने ही था , "जाओ अब तवाफ़् करो"

वॊः तेज़् सूर्मा लगा कर् कहेँ, << हटो "रौशन्"
निगाह्-ए नाज़् के मारोँ का यूँ ज़ॊऽआफ़् करो >> !

मॊऽआफ़् कर्‌ना = to absolve, forgive.
शौक़् से = with pleasure, cheerfully.
इन्हिराफ़् = shunning, avoiding.
(-से) इन्हिराफ़् कर्‌ना = to shun, avoid.
क़स्द् = intention; endeavour; desire, inclination.
(-का) क़स्द् कर्‌ना = to form the design (of); to intend; to pursue.
ख़ुलूस् = purity; sincerity, friendship, affection.
इत्तिसाफ़् = description; praise.
लगी = affection; longing; hunger.
ऎऽतिराफ़् = acknowledgement, confession.
मदार् = axis; centre; orbit.
बुत् = idol; beloved, mistress.
ख़्व़ुद्‌बीन् = self-conceited, vain, proud.
तवाफ़् कर्‌ना = to make the circuit (of a holy place).
तेज़् = sharp; penetrating, piercing; strong; passionate.
सूर्मा = collyrium of antimony (applied to eyes).
नाज़् = coquetry, amorous playfulness; dalliance; pride, whims.
ज़ॊऽआफ़् = speedy or sudden death.

लुत्फ़् पाया है ऽअजब् जो क़ब्ज़ः-ए सय्याद् मेँ
चैन् मिल्‌ता है ऽइबादत् मेँ न अब् इल्हाद् मेँ

जब्‌से वाऽइज़् ने ठिकाना कर लिया नौ‌शाद् मेँ
वस्फ़्-ए बुत् शामिल् हुए उस् रोज़् से औराद् मेँ

दिल् ख़ुदा का घर् है लेकिन् बॆह्र्-ए ग़म् मेँ ऽइश्क़् के
ना-ख़ुदा इक् बस् गया इस् ख़ानः-ए बर्बाद् मेँ

क्या ग़लत् था , क्या सहीह् ? इस् बात् से तस्कीँ हुई :
दश्त्-ए इम्काँ तो रहा "सद्दाम्" के बग़्दाद् मेँ

झिल्‌मिलाते अश्क़्-हा-ए ग़म् चराग़ाँ कर् गए
रात् गुज़्‌‍री है मुनव्वर् यूँ तुम्हारी याद् मेँ

कुछ् ख़याल् , इक् नश्शः-ए इल्हाम् , और् क़ुर्ब्-ए शबाब् !

क़ब्ज़ः = grasp; possession.
सय्याद् = fowler; (poet.) ravisher of hearts.
ऽइबादत् = religious service, worship; submissive obedience.
इल्हाद् = heresy; apostasy; idolatry; atheism.
वाऽइज़् = admonisher; preacher.
नौ‌शाद् = name of a city famous for the beauty of its inhabitants.
वस्फ़् = praising; description.
बुत् = idol; (poet.) beloved.
औराद् = daily rehearsals (of the क़ुर्ऽआन्), commemorations, devotional exercises.
बॆह्र् = sea.
ना-ख़ुदा = atheist, an impious wretch; boatman, steersman.
ख़ानः = house; receptacle.
तस्कीन् = calming; consolation.
दश्त् = desert; arid plain; forest.
इम्कान् = possibility; power; contingent existence.
चराग़ाँ = a display of lamps.
मुनव्वर् = illuminated; elucidated; clear.
नश्शः (= नशा) = intoxication.
इल्हाम् = inspiration, revelation.
क़ुर्ब् = nearness, proximity; relationship.
ईजाद् = creation; invention.
शम्शाद् = the box-tree; (met.) the graceful figure of a beloved.
