ग़ज़ल् ३१

लुत्फ़् पाया है ऽअजब् जो क़ब्ज़ः-ए सय्याद् मेँ
चैन् मिल्‌ता है ऽइबादत् मेँ न अब् इल्हाद् मेँ

जब्‌से वाऽइज़् ने ठिकाना कर लिया नौ‌शाद् मेँ
वस्फ़्-ए बुत् शामिल् हुए उस् रोज़् से औराद् मेँ

दिल् ख़ुदा का घर् है लेकिन् बॆह्र्-ए ग़म् मेँ ऽइश्क़् के
ना-ख़ुदा इक् बस् गया इस् ख़ानः-ए बर्बाद् मेँ

क्या ग़लत् था , क्या सहीह् ? इस् बात् से तस्कीँ हुई :
दश्त्-ए इम्काँ तो रहा "सद्दाम्" के बग़्दाद् मेँ

झिल्‌मिलाते अश्क़्-हा-ए ग़म् चराग़ाँ कर् गए
रात् गुज़्‌‍री है मुनव्वर् यूँ तुम्हारी याद् मेँ

कुछ् ख़याल् , इक् नश्शः-ए इल्हाम् , और् क़ुर्ब्-ए शबाब् !
कर् ग़ज़ल् ईजाद् "रौशन्" सायः-ए शम्शाद् मेँ

लुत्फ़् = pleasantness.
ऽअजब् = wonderful, astonishing, strange.
क़ब्ज़ः = grasp; possession.
सय्याद् = fowler; (poet.) ravisher of hearts.
ऽइबादत् = religious service, worship; submissive obedience.
इल्हाद् = heresy; apostasy; idolatry; atheism.
वाऽइज़् = admonisher; preacher.
नौ‌शाद् = name of a city famous for the beauty of its inhabitants.
वस्फ़् = praising; description.
बुत् = idol; (poet.) beloved.
औराद् = daily rehearsals (of the क़ुर्ऽआन्), commemorations, devotional exercises.
बॆह्र् = sea.
ना-ख़ुदा = atheist, an impious wretch; boatman, steersman.
ख़ानः = house; receptacle.
तस्कीन् = calming; consolation.
दश्त् = desert; arid plain; forest.
इम्कान् = possibility; power; contingent existence.
चराग़ाँ = a display of lamps.
मुनव्वर् = illuminated; elucidated; clear.
नश्शः (= नशा) = intoxication.
इल्हाम् = inspiration, revelation.
क़ुर्ब् = nearness, proximity; relationship.
ईजाद् = creation; invention.
शम्शाद् = the box-tree; (met.) the graceful figure of a beloved.
