ग़ज़ल् ३६

ऐ दोस्त् ! क्योँ मुँह् छिपा रहे हो
पर्दः पॆ पर्दः गिरा रहे हो

फ़िर् नज़्म्-ए उर्दू सुना रहे हो
यऽनी तऽअश्शुक़् जता रहे हो

मऽशूक़ः है मौत् , ता-क़ियामत्
और् ज़िन्दगी से निभा रहे हो

अप्‌नोँ से ग़फ़्लत् , अदा-ए शिद्दत्
ग़ैरोँ से उल्फ़त् जता रहे हो

अफ़्सोस् ! ऐ हासिल्-ए महब्बत्
यॆः कैसा मंज़र् दिखा रहे हो

वॊः रुत्बः है "साहिबा" तुम्हारा
"रौशन्" के दिल् का ख़ुदा रहे हो

नज़्म् =order; stringing; poetry.
तऽअश्शुक़् = exhibiting love; affection.
तऽअश्शुक़् जताना = to make a show of love or affection.
मऽशूक़ः = beloved, sweet-heart, mistress.
ता-क़ियामत् = to the last day (i.e. until resurrection).
ग़फ़्लत् = neglect, inattention.
शिद्दत् = vehemence, force, violence.
उल्फ़त् = intimacy; affection, friendship.
हासिल् = product, outcome, result; inference; profit; import.
मंज़र् = aspect; view; landscape; spectacle, scene.
रुत्बः = station, standing, honour, rank, degree; distinction.
ख़ुदा = god; lord, master, ruler, owner.
