ग़ज़ल् ४

मौज्-ए सबा-ए ऽइश्क़् से जो बे-क़रार् है
मेरा लहू कि बू-ए गुल्-ए नौ-बहार् है

"आवाज़् दे रही है मेरी ज़िन्दगी मुझे"
खेँचे जो जा रही है , क़ज़ा की पुकार् है

मह्रूम् अह्ल-ए दिल् नहीँ , साक़ी , तेरे ब-ग़ैर्
मख़्मूर् हैँ , निगाह्-ए बुताँ का ख़ुमार् है

हर्फ़्-ए सुख़न् को जामः-ए जोशाँ मेँ ढाल्‌ना
"रौशन्" , ग़ज़ल्-सराई का यॆः रोज़्‌गार् है

मौज् = wave.
सबा = gentle and pleasant breeze; the morning breeze; the zephyr.
ऽइश्क़् = love, passion.
बे-क़रार् = restless, disquieted, distracted.
लहू = blood.
बू-ए गुल्-ए नौ-बहार् = scent of a new spring rose.
क़ज़ा = destiny; fatality; death.
मह्रूम् = denied; deprived (of).
अह्ल-ए दिल् = 'people of the heart'; brave, spirited; liberal, generous.
साक़ी = cup-bearer; bar-tender.
(-के) ब-ग़ैर् = without, exclusive (of); except.
मख़्मूर् = intoxicated.
निगाह्-ए बुताँ = eye(s) of the idols.
ख़ुमार् = intoxication; hangover.
हर्फ़् = word.
सुख़न् = speech, language, discourse.
जामः = robe, long gown, vest.
जोशाँ = passion, emotion; lust; ardour, zeal.
ग़ज़ल्-सराई = Ghazal singing.
रोज़्‌गार् = business; livelihood.
